Why I Love to Read

Personal Development

I’m a reader. I am constantly devouring business and marketing books not because I should but because I want to. I want to be a better leader, I want to grow in my expertise, I want to be more aware, in-tune, and willing to study how others make tough decisions. I want to read about the successes and failures of others. I can only grow my team, and lead my company, when I’m willing to learn.

A great book inspires me, it challenges me. I especially love it when I read something I disagree with or something that rattles my brain so much that I have to re-read it. I love how a good book sparks conversations, how it weaves its way into meetings and how its insights can cause a chain reaction that wasn’t likely the week prior.

A great book is something that makes me make notes. Whether I scribble in the margins or make notes in my journal, I love it when I internalize what an author is conveying and I can’t stop myself from putting their insights into my own context.

As a leader of an organization or company, or you’re striving to such heights, make sure you’re reading as much as you can.
